Tactical Dispatch – The 24-hour course is designed to provide skills and tools needed in the handling of a tactical incident by law enforcement dispatchers, both from within the Dispatch Center as well as deployed to the field. The course will focus on types of events, event management, resource allocation and various types of tactical incident teams, tools, and resources. Practical skills taught will include, plotting and diagramming, perimeters, fundamentals of command post operations and incident management, as well as scribing and documentation.

Dispatch Fundamentals of Supervision – The objectives of this 8-hour course are to enhance the fundamental skills required of civilian supervisors. The course will cover scheduling, staffing, the discipline process, evaluations and new employee training and mentoring.

Dispatcher Active Shooter Situations – This 8-hour course is for dispatchers of all experience levels. It guides them through an active shooter incident. The class begins as the first call comes into the communications center and takes students through the process of gathering critical information, making the initial dispatch, maintaining officer and citizen safety, as well as, the impact on the center. This course is designed to help prepare dispatchers for this type of chaotic event.

Crisis Negotiations for Dispatchers – This course is designed for public safety dispatchers to have an understanding of hostage negotiation principles, various roles, responsibilities and challenges a dispatcher may face in such a situation, techniques used by negotiators, field unit response, techniques for dealing with the aftermath.

Dispatcher Bullying – This 8-hour course is designed to increase awareness of bullying in the dispatch workplace. Students will use critical thinking skills and learning activities to assess bullying behaviors. The goal of this course is to provide the tools for Dispatchers, Trainers, Supervisors, and Managers to be able to manage bullying situations in the workplace.
